FREE GALLERY TOURS FOR SCHOOLS
At BRAG, we run school tours for all levels – from pre-primary to tertiary. Please contact the gallery to book your free tour. Tours are led by our experienced staff and we are able to cater our exhibition tours to the needs of your class and make links between our exhibitions and your class’ topic of inquiry.
BUILDING HISTORY TOURS
The foundation stone of the BRAG building was laid in 1897, making it one of Bunbury’s significant historic sites. Originally a convent, the building has undergone several changes as a school and, finally, and art gallery. Building history tours can easily be combined with exhibition tours.
Many of our travelling exhibitions come with excellent teaching resources which we are able to pass on to teachers and schools. If there is an exhibition in our program that you are interested in, then please contact us for more information.
Now that you’ve booked your tour, why not make a day of it? BRAG is a great starting point for the Re.Discover street art walking trail which takes you around Bunbury’s CBD. It is also walking distance from the new Bunbury Museum and Heritage Centre and is close to many other important sites around the city of Bunbury. School groups are welcome to use our toilets, and stop for lunch on our lovely green front lawns.
ILUKA VISIONS SOUTH WEST HIGH SCHOOLS EXHIBITION
Iluka Visions is BRAG’s annual South West high school exhibition showcasing the best artworks from high school students around the region.
Selected works are professionally framed (where appropriate) and hung in the Chapel Gallery, BRAG’s premiere exhibition space. Students are eligible to win a number of fantastic prizes in each year level, as well as overall prizes. As well as being a great chance for schools to showcase excellence in the arts, Iluka Visions offers important professional development opportunities to both students and teachers from South West high schools. Entry packs are sent out to schools each year at the start of term 2.
