Bunbury Regional Art Gallery (BRAG) presents Are We There Yet?, a solo exhibition by Helen Seiver featuring new work alongside a 15 year survey of her creative practice.
Are We There Yet? showcases selections from Seiver’s major bodies of work. This work is a carefully crafted record of the history and culture of WA, interrogated with deep integrity and strong personal connection which allows the audience to feel the emotional weight of the history embedded here. As such, Seiver is an artist who makes a significant contribution to the cultural record of this state.
The real magic in Seiver’s work is her ability to make herself entirely vulnerable, and to make room in her heart for the lives and concerns of all which feature in her works. Through this vulnerability, she gives the viewer permission to open up this space within themselves, and to deeply feel this emotional impact of the stories she is telling and the histories she conveys.
Are We There Yet? is a rare opportunity to experience the consolidated output of one of this state’s finest artists, and is a must-see for all art lovers and public alike.
