Welcome to the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries.
Housed in a distinctive pink former convent, the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries is situated in the city centre of Bunbury, a two minute stroll to the CBD to the east and the sparkling Indian Ocean to the west.
This is the premier public art gallery in the South West of Western Australia. Boasting four separate formal exhibition spaces as well as numerous community exhibition facilities, the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries offers a diverse and stimulating programme of exhibitions from regional, state and national sources. The exhibition schedule is also complemented by an extensive range of public programmes, events, functions, classes and workshops.
More than just a gallery, this is a thriving community centre. As well as gallery spaces, the building is home to meeting and function facilities that sees it play host to a wide range of activities, from dance and yoga to weddings and formal dinners.
So if you love the arts, have an interest in heritage and architecture, want to take up a new hobby or are looking for a venue for a special occasion, a visit to the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries will be well worth it.

Iluka Visions Selection Day Fast Approaching
The premium South West high school art exhibition Iluka Visions is in full swing of the preparations required to deliver a fabulous showcase of our student talent! With this exhibition exposing our up and coming artists from the region it is no wonder that it takes months of preparation and that's just from the galleries!
The Bunbury Regional Art Galleries will be flooded with works of hopefuls looking to exhibit in this renowned exhibition and our selected panel of six judges will have the excruciating task of selecting only the best works. Stay tuned for the results and a tasting of the no doubt incredible talent that this exhibition will once again encompass.

The South West Showcase (exhibiting August - September 2011)
This opportunity offers a supported solo (or small group) exhibition to South West artists which highlights innovation and excellence in regional visual art practice. An excellent opportunity for mid-career artists seeking to advance their practice to a new level or for senior artists wishing to exhibit in their home region. All media will be considered while innovation and experimental practice will be highly valued.

Christmas Shop (exhibiting December 2010 – January 2011)
The Christmas Shop exhibition aims to increase practitioners access to new markets with their work, which is an excellent opportunity for designers and craftworkers and also emerging artists. Many senior artists use this as an opportunity to make accessible, affordable and often smaller works and thus attracting new markets to their ongoing practice. Works of all media, including, but not limited to, glass, ceramics, woodwork, textiles, sculpture, jewellery, photography and works on paper will be considered for inclusion. The exhibition offers Christmas shoppers the chance to consider the purchase of original objects and artworks as gifts for the holiday season.

The South Western Times Survey (exhibiting February – April 2011)
The South Western Times Survey is one of the most exciting features of the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries’ annual calendar. As the region’s premier visual arts exhibition, the Survey sets out to showcase the diversity and quality of South West arts practice. Excellence is recognized each year with cash prizes and acquisitive awards. All artists who enter this exhibition will become part of the region’s most significant visual arts event. Selection into the Survey is an aspirational exhibition and is always a highly competitive process, however certainly worth the opportunity.

Now Calling BRAG Home…
I am please to announce that both The Artists Chronicle and dotdotdash are now available through the Galleries!
Both being West Australian publications produced in Perth, we are keen to not only show our support for them but also bring you their stories, visuals and update of what is happening around this great state of ours.
The Artist's Chronicle is a bi-monthly magazine for artists and collectors in Western Australia, providing information for and about artists in a variety of media. The magazine lists current exhibitions, associated suppliers and services to the arts in Western Australia. Articles include current events in the visual arts in Western Australia, as well as the Eastern Australian States, Europe and America with topics from painting to sculpture, printmaking and new release art books. Cost $3.30.
dotdotdash is a quarterly publication staffed by volunteers. This Magazine exists to bring artists and writers to the fore publishing all genres of poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction, comics, illustrations, drawings, and photos. Cost $15.
